The Marmita bag came to be after the discovery of a vintage enameled lunch box in a Parisian fleamarket. This old lunch box was very popular among the French workers in the 60's and was created to answer a social matter: at that time, the workers always ate a snack at lunchtime and never a hot meal, for lack of means. That's why they invented an enamel bowl to reheat yesterday dishes.
We immediately fell in love with the shape, with the history and with its connection with construction workers , after all, the construction and industrial worlds play a main role in 22's imaginary.
Paying tribute to the Sanrival lunch boxes (no longer produced) we designed our Marmita Bag: bigger, with magnet closure, made with a recycled aluminium box, italian lining and aluminium chain.
The chain shoulder strap comes in 2 pieces connected with a carabiner so you can wear it both ways: under the shoulder and crossover.

Is the bag heavy?
It is up to you so set up your limits... Our aluminium Marmita bag weighs 850 grams. This is less than most of leather bags - vthat can weigh up to 2 kg. It looks heavy because its metal, but once you put it on your shoulders the light aluminium chain strap distributes the grams in both sides and you would be very surprised of how easy you can carry it!
How long does shipping take?
We ask from 2 to 10 days to prepare and ship your products. After that it depends in which country you are located and on UPS schedule. A tracking number will be provided as soon as the purchase leaves our atelier.
